HS varsity blanks Huntsville 10 - 0

John Sullivan was brilliant on the pitcher's mound on Saturday, as he threw a no-hitter to lead the Monarchs Varsity past the Huntsville Falcons 10-0. The Monarchs secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the third inning. Jake Herron, Sullivan, Grant Widener, and Jacob Batton each had RBIs in the big inning.
The Monarchs fired up the offense in the first inning. Shane Winkler singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
They notched seven runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to an error on a ball put in play by Sullivan and Batton, a triple by Herron, and a single by Widener.
Sullivan was credited with the victory for the Monarchs. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over five innings, striking out ten. He also added a solo home run in the fifth inning.
The Monarchs tallied nine hits on the day. Winkler and Elliott Palmer and each managed two hits to lead the Monarchs.
The next game is Monday, March 6th against the TN Heat at Donelson Rotary Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7PM.
